Fire Point Completes Testing of FP-9 Ballistic Missile, Prepares for Next Phase, Testing on Russia!

KYIV — Ukrainian private defense contractor Fire Point has completed ground testing of its long-range FP-9 ballistic missile and is preparing for upcoming flight trials, CEO Iryna Terekh announced on August 21, 2026, according to reports by UNN.

While initial reports suggested the missile had completed its entire testing cycle, Terekh clarified that the completed phase refers strictly to static "on-the-ground" testing, according to UNN.

The FP-9 has not yet conducted its first physical flight because the company is still casting the missile's 4.6-ton solid-fuel engine, as reported by The Defence Blog.

Physical mockups of both the FP-9 and the FP-7 were publicly exhibited at the DALO Industry Days in Herning, Denmark, on August 18–19, 2026, confirming the physical reality of the hardware, as reported by NOELREPORTS on Mastodon.

The development of these long-range systems represents a significant effort by Ukraine's domestic defense sector to establish deep-strike capabilities independent of Western weapon restrictions, according to United24 Media.
